Welcome to inkmann art, my blog about all things pen & ink. I'm a fountain pen collector, and enjoy using them for my sketches. My name 'Inkmann' echoes the Isle of Man, where I live. This Island's landscape, coast and heritage are my main inspiration, and the abandoned homesteads, known as Tholtans here, are a subject I often return too. My pen collection is growing alongside the different inks I can't resist, as pen and ink is my favourite medium. But I am also a fan of digital art and watercolour, and sometimes combine all three mediums to gain the effect I like. The only way to fly

I had to include this as nearly every evening the Herons give me a flypast over my roof. A large squawk and then a seamless glide to a nearby location for a nap.

Herons on the beach

Usually most early mornings the herons are on the beach looking for breakfast. They are stunning and majestic and spend long times being perfectly still concentrating on their hunting skills

Pen and ink

Some of my favourite pens

Opus 88

This is my Opus 88 demonstrator pen. The only thing I can say is it's brill. Ive had it some time now and it has never let me down. It's quite chunky and holds an awful amount of ink so less refilling. This is always close to hand and used daily. The unique filling system is an eyedropper which is supplied with the pen.

This is such a good quality pen, with some great features
